Mt. Eden is 9-1 against Arroyo since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mt. Eden Monarchs will head out on the road to face off against the Arroyo Dons at 6:30 p.m. Mt. Eden is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
On Wednesday, Mt. Eden ended up a good deal behind Hayward and lost 51-34. Mt. Eden has not had much luck with Hayward recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Arroyo came up short against Berkeley on Wednesday and fell 52-41.
Despite their defeat, Arroyo saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jordyn Walker, who scored no points along with ten rebounds and six steals, was perhaps the best of all. Walker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.
Mt. Eden has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Arroyo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
Mt. Eden strolled past Arroyo in their previous matchup on January 5th by a score of 60-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mt. Eden since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
