Gabrielino is 8-2 against the Knights since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Gabrielino Eagles will be playing at home against the Arroyo Knights at 5:00 p.m. Gabrielino is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last seven games.
Gabrielino put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Rosemead with a sharp 40-20 win. Given Gabrielino's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Panthers are ranked 744th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Gabrielino's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Lim, who scored 17 points. Lim is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Banh, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Arroyo made easy work of the Eagles on Wednesday and carried off a 51-27 win. The win was just what Arroyo needed coming off of a 59-22 defeat in their prior matchup.
Gabrielino pushed their record up to 16-7 with that victory, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 34.8 points. As for Arroyo, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-16.
Gabrielino took their win against the Knights when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 50-26. Will Gabrielino repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
