After four games on the road, Linville Hill is heading back home. They will take on the Conestoga Christian Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Linville Hill is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Conestoga Christian in Pennsylvania (Linville Hill is ranked 213th, while Conestoga Christian is ranked 703rd).
Linville Hill can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 67-35 win over Lancaster Mennonite on the road. Linville Hill's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Desiree Smucker was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Rishel, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Conestoga Christian, who are still winless after their ninth match. They fell to Coventry Christian 20-15.
Aubrey Weaver was Conestoga Christian's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Hannah Howell held things down on the boards with eight rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Linville Hill pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.67 points. As for Conestoga Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.
Tuesday's contest is shaping up to be a scrappy match: Linville Hill have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 27.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Conestoga Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 22.9 rebounds per game. Given Linville Hill's sizeable advantage in that area, Conestoga Christian will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Linville Hill against Conestoga Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 58-6 win. With Linville Hill ahead 34-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
