The North Monterey County Condors won the last time they faced the King City Mustangs, and things went their way on Friday too. North Monterey County came out on top against King City by a score of 50-37.
King City's loss came despite strong showings from Malaya Carrillo and Amity Hearne. Carrillo scored 17 points, while Hearne scored eight points along with 16 rebounds. Hearne is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Raylie Moore, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
North Monterey County now has a winning record of 5-4. As for King City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Monterey County on the road again on Friday and play against St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for King City, they will square off against Marina at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Marina is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home.
