Baseball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Chamblee's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Chamblee's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of Decatur by a score of 14-13. Chamblee was not able to make up for their loss to Decatur from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Joey David made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Sam Scazzero was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

David wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Chamblee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Chamblee's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Decatur, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 4-12 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. We've got a battle between Bulldogs coming up. As for Decatur, they will venture away from home to challenge Tri-Cities at 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday. Decatur has given up an average of 9.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
