The Anaheim Colonists put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Millikan by a score of 57-44. Given Anaheim's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Millikan is ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Elise Marquez, who scored 24 points along with eight steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Anaheim's points. Another player making a difference was Aleah McGregor, who scored ten points along with four steals.
Anaheim's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Millikan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season.
Anaheim won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Corona at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th. Millikan will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cabrillo at 5:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
