The Hilton Cadets will be playing at home against the Gates Chili Spartans at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hilton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully Gates Chili likes a good challenge.
Even though Hilton has not done well against Victor recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Hilton walked away with a 76-67 victory over Victor. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Gates Chili suffered their closest loss yet this season on Wednesday. They fell just short of Churchville-Chili by a score of 55-53. Gates Chili has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Joey Vigerzi, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. DarQuinn Johnson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Hilton's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Gates Chili, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9.
Everything came up roses for Hilton against Gates Chili when the teams last played back in January of 2022 as the team secured a 66-38 victory. Does Hilton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Gates Chili turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
