Each year since 2006, MaxPreps has recognized outstanding performers in high school girls basketball. The tradition continues to close out the 2024-25 season by naming the top player in each state. Selections are based on team success and individual excellence in addition to local and state accolades.
Aliyahna Morris of
Etiwanda is the 2024-25 California MaxPreps Player of the Year. The 5-foot-5 senior guard led the Eagles to a 28-5 record and third straight Open Division state championship.
For the season, Morris averaged 24.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. In a 75-59 win over Archbishop Mitty (San Jose) in the title game, she scored 12 points and dished out seven assists.
