Pomona is 0-4 against Colony since February of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The two teams, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 3:30 p.m. Pomona knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Colony likes a good challenge.
Last Friday, Pomona got the win against La Puente by a conclusive 15-5. Considering the Red Devils have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Adrian Lopez, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Pomona always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Colony came up short against Alta Loma last Thursday and fell 10-5. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Titans, who until this matchup were averaging 3.93 runs allowed.
Antonio Huacuja made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Angel Serna, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Colony's loss dropped their record down to 7-7-1. As for Pomona, their win bumped their record up to 3-5-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Pomona has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Colony struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Pomona suffered a grim 16-4 defeat to Colony in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will the Red Devils have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
