The Timberline Blazers's 18-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 59-58 to Gig Harbor. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (56), Timberline still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Timberline lost, one person who can't be blamed is Darrell Gipson. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenyon Simmons, who scored 11 points.
Timberline's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Gig Harbor, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Timberline will be home for the holidays to greet Central Kitsap at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Kitsap is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Gig Harbor, they will head out on the road to face off against Capital at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Capital will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Gig Harbor is ranked 83rd).
