El Camino is 1-9 against Sage Creek since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. El Camino will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
On Saturday, it was close, but El Camino sidestepped Mission Hills for an 8-7 victory. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Zane Nordquist was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Isaiah Saldivar was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Charlie Orman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Sage Creek ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Mt. Carmel 5-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Sean Saiki was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Elijah Stephens was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Sage Creek pushed their record up to 16-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for El Camino, their record now sits at 15-12.
El Camino couldn't quite finish off Sage Creek in their previous meeting back in April and fell 5-3. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
