On Saturday, Pocono Mountain East was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 37-31 to Wyoming Area. Pocono Mountain East has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Wyoming Area's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kendall Day, who scored 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Morgan Slusser, who scored 5 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Pocono Mountain East's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Wyoming Area, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pocono Mountain East will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Whitehall at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024. As for Wyoming Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Riverside at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
