Normandy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Monday, dropping them down to 0-7. They came up short against the McCluer North Stars, falling 20-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-2 back in September.
Trinidy W stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Mykia M, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
As for McCluer North, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The result was nothing new for the Stars, who have now won nine contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
On McCluer North's side, Amya Adams was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off one hit. Adams was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Marayah Taylor was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Makayla Kirchner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Looking ahead, Normandy is taking a road trip to face off against Hazelwood East at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McCluer North, they will host University City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
