For the first time this season, Nordhoff will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup on Wednesday. They will head out to challenge the Channel Islands Raiders at 3:30 p.m. Nordhoff is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
Nordhoff made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bishop Diego, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Nordhoff's way against Bishop Diego on Monday as Nordhoff made off with a 25-4 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rangers.
Jacob De Alba and Dylan Miller made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, De Alba struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Miller pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, De Alba scored four runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances, while Miller scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. De Alba has become a key player for Nordhoff: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Johnny Perez was a standout: he scored five runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (four). Andres Perez was another key player, getting on base in four of his six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Nordhoff kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Channel Islands was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Heritage Christian.
Nordhoff pushed their record up to 5-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 16 hits in those games compared to only five in the others. As for Channel Islands, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Nordhoff's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. Nordhoff has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Channel Islands, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Nordhoff continue to outrun the ball?
Nordhoff came up short against Channel Islands in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 7-3. Can Nordhoff avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
