The Magnolia Sentinels will head out to square off against the Rancho Alamitos Vaqueros at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
Things were looking good for Magnolia after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 10-6 to Tustin.
Magnolia saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Arnold Segura, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Another was Jacob Moniz, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Rancho Alamitos came out on top against Westminster on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Vaqueros had just enough and edged out the Lions 12-10. The Vaqueros' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Rancho Alamitos got a massive performance out of Hector Galeano, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Galeano a new career-high. Davian Sanchez was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Rancho Alamitos and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Magnolia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Magnolia has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rancho Alamitos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Magnolia couldn't quite finish off Rancho Alamitos in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Sentinels avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
