The Greater Johnstown Trojans will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Central Dragons at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Greater Johnstown suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Monday. They were outmatched by Westmont Hilltop on the road and fell 53-25. While losing is never fun, Greater Johnstown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Westmont Hilltop is ranked 38th).
Meanwhile, Central came up short against Bellwood-Antis on Wednesday and fell 42-35. Central has struggled against Bellwood-Antis recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Greater Johnstown now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season.
Greater Johnstown ended up a good deal behind Central in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, losing 44-25. Can Greater Johnstown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
