Make it 12 blowout wins for the Rosamond Roadrunners this season. They put the hurt on Wasco with a sharp 59-34 win on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for Rosamond who now have three in a row.
Rosamond found their leader in underclassman Ariel Cain, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cain has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kiley Perez, who scored six points along with six steals.
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Genesis Epinosa, who scored eight points along with seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Camila Almanza, who scored nine points along with two steals.
Rosamond is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Wasco, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Rosamond will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Royals at 11:30 a.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Ashantee Palmer and Cain. As for Wasco, they will head out on the road to challenge the Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Kennedy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
