The Carlin Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their ninth straight loss. They were beaten by Round Mountain 42-12. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carlin in their matchups with Round Mountain: they've now lost three in a row.
It was another big night for Ava Faga, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds for Round Mountain. Faga is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Layla Faga, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Carlin's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-9. As for Round Mountain, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Carlin will be playing at home against Wells at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Round Mountain won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Indian Springs at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Indian Springs sitting on seven straight victories and Round Mountain on three.
