The Warren Bears lost against the Anaheim Colonists back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Warren suffered a tough 69-45 defeat at the hands of Anaheim. While losing is never fun, Warren can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 493rd, while Anaheim is ranked 88th).
Leading Anaheim to victory were Elise Marquez and Ashley Guzman. Marquez dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 assists, while Guzman scored 23 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Marquez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aleah McGregor, who scored 9 points along with 5 steals.
Warren has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Anaheim, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Warren will head out on the road to face off against Whittier at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whittier and Warren are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Anaheim, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Valencia at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
