The Madera South Stallions lost against the Fresno Warriors back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Madera South received a tough blow as they fell 58-43 to the Warriors. While losing is never fun, Madera South can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 751st, while the Warriors are ranked 334th).
Despite the loss, Madera South still got an impressive performance from BRIANNAH LORTA, who scored 23 points. That was a full 53.5% of Madera South's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. MAYRILIN VASQUEZ was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Madera South has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for Fresno, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-8.
Madera South will head out on the road to face off against the Toros at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Fresno, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rough Riders at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Roosevelt is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
