There's no place like home for Burbank, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 22-4 margin over the Valley Vikings on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Uriel Angulo was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Burbank got a massive performance out of Mario Mendoza, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Those four RBI gave Mendoza a new career-high. Kevin Duplessis was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Burbank always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valley only posted an OBP of .409.
Burbank's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.8 runs over those games. As for Valley, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-9.
Burbank will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Vikings: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
