Baker hasn't had much luck against Northview recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Gators will take on the Chiefs at 5:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Baker is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They blew past Central 10-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Gators.
Lacey McCranie spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nevaeh Nava, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Ava Prytula, who went 1-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Northview got the win against T.R. Miller on Tuesday by a conclusive 16-3. Considering the Chiefs have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Daviona Randolph was excellent, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Aubrey Hadley was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Northview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as T.R. Miller only posted a batting average of .250.
Baker's record now sits at 9-11. As for Northview, their record is now 16-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Baker has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Northview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Baker might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Northview in their previous meeting on April 6th. Can the Gators avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
