Tehachapi is on a four-game streak of home wins, while West is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tehachapi Warriors will take on the West Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tehachapi has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Tehachapi put the finishing touches on their 14th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past North 74-46 on the road. Given Tehachapi's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while North is ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Riley Walden, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Camille Foster was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds.
Even though West has not done well against Golden Valley recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. West walked away with a 39-26 win over Golden Valley.
Tehachapi has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season. As for West, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Everything came up roses for Tehachapi against West in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 68-32 win. Does Tehachapi have another victory up their sleeve, or will West turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
