Basketball Recap: Purchase Line Skates Past Ferndale with Ease

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Penns Manor, Purchase Line was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Ferndale Yellow Jackets 46-16. The Red Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 28 points or more this season.

Purchase Line found their leader in freshman Rylee Mahaffey, who posted 18 points and eight boards. What's more, Mahaffey also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Jianna Hopkins was another key player, putting up six points along with five assists and five steals.

Purchase Line was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ferndale only posted three assists.

Purchase Line's win bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Ferndale, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 12-8.

Purchase Line didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-19 victory against Moshannon Valley on the 7th. As for Ferndale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 45-30 loss against Glendale on the 7th.
