Baseball Recap: Franklin Has No Trouble Against Edison

Franklin got themselves on the board against Edison on Thursday, but Edison never followed suit. They blew past the Edison Vikings 10-0. Considering the Yellowjackets have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Sergio Campuzano, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Franklin is 3-1 when Campuzano posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Larry Cachua, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Franklin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Franklin now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Edison, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

Looking ahead, Franklin will square off against San Lorenzo Valley at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Franklin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.1 runs per game this season. Edison will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Weston Ranch at 6:30 p.m. on March 26th.
