The Monache Marauders will venture away from home to challenge the Mt. Whitney Pioneers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Mt. Whitney took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Monache, who comes in off a win.
Monache took an eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Redwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Marauders had just enough and edged out the Rangers 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Marauders have posted since February 24th.

Tyson Harrington was excellent, earning one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Brandon Correa was another key player, earning two RBI and two runs.
El Diamante hit Mt. Whitney with a four-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Pioneers fell just short of the Miners by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pioneers have suffered since April 14, 2025.
Jacob Carrasco made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Alec Sandoval also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
Monache is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Mt. Whitney, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3-1.
Monache's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. The Marauders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Mt. Whitney, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Monache continue to outrun the ball?
Monache might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Mt. Whitney in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Marauders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
