Lakeland had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Sturgis on Tuesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 18-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lakeland pushed their record up to 21-10 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sturgis, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-20.
