The Gonzales Spartans will venture away from home to  take on the Seaside Spartans  at 5:45  p.m.  on Wednesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Gonzales is coming into the  contest fresh off a high-scoring shootout with Soledad that saw the pair combine for 17 shots  on goal. Gonzales lost  11-1 to Soledad back in December of 2024. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings  (they are ranked 920th, while the Aztecs are ranked 99th).
Gonzales' goal came courtesy  of  Alessandra Tejeda-Ochoa, who's now up to four this season.
 Meanwhile, Seaside was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They came up short against  Palma, falling  3-0. The  game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Spartans struggled afterwards.
 Seaside's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Gonzales,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 1-5.
