The South Beloit Sobos will challenge the Orangeville Broncos at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Orangeville will be up against a hot South Beloit team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Sobos blew past West Carroll 13-3 on Wednesday. The Sobos might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

JT Sanders made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because South Beloit is 7-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-8-1 otherwise. Sanders was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, Gage Pasiecznik and Macen Peot did most of the damage at the plate: Pasiecznik got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one double, and one RBI, while Peot got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most runs Pasiecznik has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was James Herrington, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
South Beloit was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Orangeville got the win against West Carroll on Tuesday by a conclusive 15-8.
Brian Dittmar was incredible, getting on base in three of his six plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Matthew Soddy was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs.
Orangeville's victory bumped their record up to 5-20. As for South Beloit, they now have a winning record of 11-10-1.
South Beloit was able to grind out a solid win over Orangeville in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, winning 11-7. Do the Sobos have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
