While Irvington's victory against Mission San Jose wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Vikings narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Warriors 8-7. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

The win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 3-8. As for Mission San Jose, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10.

Coming up, Irvington will host Mt. Eden at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Monarchs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.62 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mission San Jose, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Newark Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on the 15th.
