This season hasn't been kind to the Niobrara/Verdigre Cougars, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They took a serious blow against Wausa on Monday, falling 67-33. Wausa got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Preston Schlote out in front who scored 17 points. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Bloomquist, who scored 14 points.
