Belleville West has gone 8-2 against Granite City recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Maroons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Belleville West's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Granite City's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Belleville West is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Edwardsville on Thursday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1.

Lucas Womack was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Belleville West saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Feazel, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Granite City hadn't done well against Mater Dei recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 11-1 win.
Connor Schaefer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Granite City got a big performance out of Evan Brewer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Micheal Terry, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Belleville West's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-1. As for Granite City, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
