The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls will head out to challenge the Mitchell Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wiregrass Ranch is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.2 runs per game this season.
Wiregrass Ranch is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Nature Coast Tech just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Sharks by a score of 6-5.
Wiregrass Ranch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kayla Valentin, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Aaliyah Tyms also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Mitchell ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-5 win over Land O' Lakes. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won three in a row.
Savannah Toukatly spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, MacKenzie Tucker was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madyson Whitaker, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Mitchell lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Land O' Lakes didn't launched any.
Mitchell's record is now 3-1. As for Wiregrass Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Wiregrass Ranch hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Mitchell struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.2 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Wiregrass Ranch might still be hurting after the 11-4 loss they got from Mitchell in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Bulls avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
