The Carson Colts's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 53-35 fall against Walnut.
Several Colts players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madison Wheeler, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Sydney Jackson, who scored ten points.
Leading Walnut to victory were Maileeh Suasti and Florinalaulaau Liufau. Suasti scored 19 points along with nine rebounds and four steals, while Liufau scored 15 points along with six steals and five rebounds. The game was Suasti's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Olia, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Carson's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Walnut, their victory bumped their record up to 10-6.
Carson will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Mission Viejo at 9:00 a.m. on December 28th. Mission Viejo is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Walnut won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Norte Vista at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. Norte Vista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 927th, while Walnut is ranked 353rd).
