Softball Recap: Central Extends Winning Streak to Three

Central lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Northside, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Lions were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Patriots on Thursday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

The win was the third in a row for Central, bringing their record up to 11-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Northside, the loss snapped their winning streak at 14 games and leaves them with a 15-2 record.

Central and Northside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Lions (ranked 30th) will meet Newnan (ranked 185th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Northside will challenge Troup County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (9 vs. 244).
