On Friday, the Corner Canyon Chargers faced the Riverton Silverwolves in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Corner Canyon came out on top against Riverton by a score of 53-41. The victory was familiar territory for Corner Canyon who now have three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Corner Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derelle Desire, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Desire hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Feroah, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Corner Canyon is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season. As for Riverton, their loss dropped their record down to 12-2.
Corner Canyon will be playing at home against Herriman at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Herriman has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 583 points over their last eight games. As for Riverton, they will head out on the road to square off against Bingham at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Bingham's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
