Mallard Creek and Hough are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The Mallard Creek Mavericks will head out on the road to square off against the Hough Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Mallard Creek's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 11 games.
Even though Harding University scored an imposing 61 points on Tuesday, Mallard Creek still came out on top. Mallard Creek enjoyed a cozy 77-61 victory over Harding University. The win was just what Mallard Creek needed coming off of a 108-64 defeat in their prior matchup.
Mallard Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Langston Boyd, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Boyd is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Washington, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, Hough was able to grind out a solid victory over West Charlotte on Tuesday, taking the game 53-42.
Mallard Creek's record is now 8-13. Hough's record is now 6-15.
Mallard Creek beat Hough 59-47 in their previous meeting back in January. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hough's Evan Otto, who scored 17 points.
