Washington has gone a perfect 4-0 against Mt. Eden recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Huskies will face off against the Monarchs at 3:30 p.m. Mt. Eden took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Washington, who comes in off a win.
Washington was handed a six-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They never let Pittsburg get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since May 3, 2025.
The result came thanks to Hugo Marks's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Washington saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Paek, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Washington hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pittsburg struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Mt. Eden was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They came up short against California, falling 11-2.
Javier Alfaro was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Mt. Eden's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-2. As for Washington, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Washington skirted past Mt. Eden 8-6 when the teams last played back in February of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
