Colfax has been on the road for nine straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. The Colfax Falcons and the Vista del Lago Eagles will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Vista del Lago took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Colfax, who comes in off a win.
Colfax has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Shasta with a sharp 60-39 victory on Saturday. The victory was just what Colfax needed coming off of a 64-43 loss in their prior contest.
Colfax's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Juliette James, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. The game was James' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Laurlyn Massick, who scored 16 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Vista del Lago's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell to Whitney 56-50. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Vista del Lago in their matchups with Whitney: they've now lost three in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Ella Skrzyniarz, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. She scored a full 44% of Vista del Lago's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Bella Pallari was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Colfax's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Vista del Lago, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.
Colfax didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Vista del Lago in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 60-54 win. Does Colfax have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vista del Lago turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
