The Aquinas Falcons waltzed into their matchup Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They blew past Ramona 63-41. Aquinas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matches by 22 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aquinas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madeleine De Kodia, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. De Kodia has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. Breanna Bates was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Despite the loss, Ramona saw an underclassman step up: Olivia Molina scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Athena Berber, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Aquinas has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Ramona, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.
Aquinas and King will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. King knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully Aquinas likes a good challenge. Ramona and Valley View will face off at 3:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
