The South Point Red Raiders had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 48-47 victory over Fort Mill. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points South Point has scored all year.
Graham Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Hunt, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Fort Mill's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Logan Parker, who scored eight points along with four steals. Parker hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Nas Berry was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
South Point's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Fort Mill, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
South Point will be home for the holidays to greet Ashbrook at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ashbrook will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Fort Mill is on the road again on Friday and play against Northwestern at 8:00 p.m. on December 15th. Northwestern will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Fort Mill is ranked 30th).
