The El Rancho Dons lost against the California Condors back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. El Rancho was dealt a 61-32 defeat at the hands of California. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for El Rancho in their matchups with California: they've now lost eight in a row.
El Rancho's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Emery Riker, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds, and Sofia Lopez who scored five points along with five rebounds. Riker scored a full 34.4% of El Rancho's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
El Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for California, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Rancho will stay at home for another game and welcome Apple Valley at 5:00 p.m. on January 6th. California will take on Whittier at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Whittier is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
