The Northridge Academy Pumas stacked a seventh blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They blew past Vaughn 63-40. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Northridge Academy has posted since November 16, 2023.
Northridge Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Janelle Estrella out in front who scored 16 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Divya Kishore, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Vaughn lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mariah Eulloqui, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrea Cervantes, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Even though they lost, Vaughn smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northridge Academy only pulled down nine offensive rebounds.
Northridge Academy pushed their record up to 8-4 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 36 points. As for Vaughn, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.
Northridge Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Fulton at 4:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Fulton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Vaughn, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Sherman Oaks CES at 3:30 p.m. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Neriah Adjei and Cervantes.
