Everett is 8-2 against Fannett Metal since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Everett Warriors will head out on the road to face off against Fannett Metal at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Everett has four straight victories, Fannett Metal has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
On Wednesday, everything went Everett's way against Meyersdale as Everett made off with a 53-33 win. Given Everett's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while Meyersdale is ranked 419th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Everett can attribute much of their success to Jade Colledge, who scored 13 points along with three steals, and Cloe Price, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Price's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Bowser, who scored seven points along with four steals.
Meanwhile, Fannett Metal fought the good fight in their overtime match against Mount Union on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 56-53.
Everett's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Fannett Metal, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for Everett against Fannett Metal when the teams last played back in February as the squad secured a 53-17 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Everett since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
