The South Philadelphia Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They walked away with a 37-30 win over Nueva Esperanza. The win was familiar territory for South Philadelphia who now have five in a row.
South Philadelphia got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Halimah Blackwell out in front who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kareema Broady, who scored 11 points.
Despite the loss, Nueva Esperanza saw an underclassman step up: Destiny Santiago scored 15 points. Glorivee Moreno was another key contributor, scoring five points.
South Philadelphia's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Nueva Esperanza, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Philadelphia will take on the Panthers at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Jules E. Mastbaum Vo-Tech comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Nueva Esperanza, they will play host again and welcome the Knights, where tip off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
