Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Granite Hills). They came out on top against the Barstow Aztecs by a score of 54-45 on Wednesday. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 54-42 victory the Aztecs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Several Aztecs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emersyn Ebel, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 10 points along with five boards and five steals. Another player making a difference was Emily Franco, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.

Granite Hills' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-13. As for Barstow, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Granite Hills will square off against Silverado at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Silverado will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Granite Hills surely won't give up without a fight. Barstow has already played their next game (against Adelanto), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
