The Vincent Memorial Scots waltzed into their matchup on Monday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They skirted past Brawley 59-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Vincent Memorial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paola Longoria, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Longoria has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Dafne Borunda, who scored 13 points along with five assists and five steals.
Vincent Memorial has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Brawley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
Vincent Memorial will play host again and welcome Calipatria, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Calipatria is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Brawley on the road again on Thursday and play against Southwest EC at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th.
