Make it ten blowout wins for the Herron Achaeans this season. Everything went their way against Indianapolis Washington on Thursday as Herron made off with a 62-41 win. The victory was just what Herron needed coming off of a 61-19 loss in their prior game.
Herron's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaycianna Clark, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Clark is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 15 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Trinity Foerster, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Indianapolis Washington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Amaia Woods, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Woods has scored all season. Malaysha Flanagan was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Even though they lost, Indianapolis Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Herron has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Indianapolis Washington, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Herron's road trip will continue as they head out to face Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 3:15 p.m. on January 13th. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Indianapolis Washington, they will head out on the road to take on Bethesda Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bethesda Christian presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Indianapolis Washington in Indiana (Bethesda Christian is ranked 140th, while Indianapolis Washington is ranked 394th).
