The Tamaqua Blue Raiders stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Tri-Valley 55-23 at home. With Tamaqua ahead 37-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Tamaqua's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lauren Ligenza led the charge by scoring 18 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Samantha Plasha, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Tamaqua and bumps their season record up to 12-4. As for Tri-Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tamaqua will take on Lehighton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Tri-Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Williams Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
