The Hoover Patriots will face off against the Madera South Stallions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hoover will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
On Friday, Hoover was able to grind out a solid win over Torres, taking the game 6-3.
Asa Medina made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Hoover is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 4-5 otherwise. Medina was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.
In other pitching news, A J Escamilla looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Hoover is 4-2 when Escamilla allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Madera South came up short against Sunnyside on Friday and fell 7-3. The Stallions haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Madera South saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Casarez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Hoover pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Madera South, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Hoover beat Madera South 5-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stallions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
